Happenstance Theater is bringing the magical art of clown to the Silver Spring with the family-friendly Pinot & Augustine. Pinot (Mark Jaster) is a highly skilled, composed master – and Augustine (Sabrina Mandell) is the bumbling, eager-to-please apprentice whose bubbly nature rattles him to his core.
Watching these two rehearse was so much fun, especially when Pinot pulled out a saw and a violin bow to wow us with a rendition of “Summertime.” That’s right: this guy actually played music on a real, working saw! Watch the video for a preview of the show and to hear “Summertime”:
Wasn’t that wild? Besides the unique opportunity to hear a singing saw, your family will love seeing two clowns…well, clown around! Sometimes there’s just nothing funnier than a strange expression or a good pratfall, and these two don’t let us forget it!
Happenstance Theater’s Pinot & Augustine is running July 15-28 as part of the Over the Line Festival in Silver Spring, MD. Visit DOandGO.org for more information!
