The Gaithersburg Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture provides a variety of classses which are available to persons of all ages and cultures, are designed to enhance the quality of life and encourage a sense of pride in the community, highlighting Gaithersburg as an outstanding place to live, work, learn and play. The City of Gaithersburg Sports Program is committed to the provision of a variety of activities that encourage and support lifetime skills, personal interest and competition. The foundation of the program is based on the spirit and principles of CHARACTER COUNTS, family fun and, most importantly, participation. Looking for something fun for your elementary school child to do when school is out? The City of Gaithersburg offers a variety of activities and field trips on MCPS professional days and half days for children in grades 1 - 5, which include trips to places like Port Discovery Children's Museum, bowling and much more. The City also offers a 4-day spring break camp. Please note that field trip locations are subject to change. Pre-registration and fee are required. Registration is on a "first come, first served" basis. Please call ahead to make sure your registration has been received.
