Baltimore, MD 21231
Living Classrooms operates in both Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC to strengthen communities and inspire young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms."
Our shipboard programs provide unique experiential education opportunities for all ages aboard historic Chesapeake Bay workboats. These interdisciplinary programs explore local waterways through hands-on activities, emphasize applied learning in math, science, engineering, and history, and utilize teamwork and cooperative learning. All programs are aligned to local and national education standards. We also offer boat charters, which are perfect for birthday parties and other private functions. Passengers can help the crew, take the wheel, participate in science activities, or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery.
